Early Life and Education

Oyekunle Opeyemi Oluwaremi was born on October 18, 1988, in Benue State, Nigeria. Kunle Remi's early life was marked by a move to Ibadan with his family during his childhood. His passion for acting emerged during his teenage years, leading him to become a youth drama teacher. Kunle pursued higher education at the University of Ibadan, where he studied Fisheries and Wildlife Management. Expanding his academic pursuits, he later attended Sheffield University, focusing on Tourism and Hospitality Management. Driven by his artistic aspirations, Kunle made a significant move to New York City to study acting, filmmaking, and directing at the New York Film Academy, earning his degree in 2014.


Early Career and Breakthrough

Kunle Remi's journey in the entertainment industry began in 2010 when he emerged as the winner of the 7th edition of Gulder Ultimate Search. Transitioning into acting in 2011, he made his on-screen debut in 2012's "Heavy Beauty." His career gained momentum with roles in projects like "Out of Luck," "Deluded," and "Mrs. & Mrs. Johnson." However, it was his role in the 2015 film "Falling" that earned him widespread recognition and acclaim.



Ventures Beyond Acting

His foray into producing included the short film "Sting" (2013) and the 2019 production "Lemonade," which was distributed across multiple streaming platforms in Nigeria. On January 1, 2024, he surprised fans by announcing his marriage to his longtime girlfriend, Tiwi. The couple shared their joyous moments on social media, revealing pre-wedding photo shoots with tradition-themed attire. The star-studded wedding, held on January 20, 2024, featured a Friday night cocktail party in Lagos, attended by Nollywood stars and dignitaries. Kunle and Tiwi's love story captivated fans, with the groom presenting a goat as a symbol of humility and love during the traditional ceremony.

Co-founder of 1810 Empire Studios, Kunle Remi aims to make a significant impact in the entertainment industry through talent management, production, and philanthropy. The studio's three verticals - 1810 Management, 1810 Studios, and 1810 Impact - reflect his commitment to creating diverse entertainment for various media platforms. Kunle's philanthropic efforts include founding Men Against Rape and Violence (MARV), and advocating for awareness around sexual assault's impact on men, women, and youth through visual storytelling.
